I started this painting a couple of years ago when I had the initial idea for this project/world. Since then I've come back to it every few months, mostly just staring and thinking, sometimes painting. It's been kind of a vehicle for me to figure out this character design and the overall tone of the project. Also it's been an interesting experiment in discovering how I like to paint when doing my own thing. I've learned a lot from it and am relieved and excited to call it finished!

At some point I want to reveal more about what this project (comic?) is all about, but hopefully one can glean the major aspects from this piece. :)
